"The Love Cycle" is a collection of four narrative feature films written and directed by Dr. Artel Great that chronicle the rituals and meanings of Black love.

 

Set in Chicago—  the heart of Black America— each film depicts deeply personal stories of young couples facing the triumphs and tragedies of modern romance. "The Love Cycle" is a

culturally-rich film tetralogy that highlights the beauty, complexity, and nuances of Black love, while revealing the extraordinary and poetic moments that mark everyday Black life.
